We had the opportunity to speak with content creator and fashion enthusiast Bridget Brown. Read on to find out what we discussed.
I have been interested in fashion since I learned how to talk and could tell my mom what I wanted to wear. I grew up an absolute diva, I used to strut around and put on fashion shows for my parents on the daily. I would change outfits multiple times a day and still do most days even now! I always knew I wanted to work in the fashion industry in some capacity. My love for vintage clothing really pushed me to pursue social media full-time. I wanted to encourage and show other people that developing your own sense of style does not need to be expensive or require an overconsumption of items. I love the idea of repeating outfits and wearing what makes you comfortable and happy. I get so excited trying out new things and finding fun and unique pieces that keep me inspired.
My go-to shoe when traveling is definitely a cool comfy sneaker if not a rubber-soled boot. I am a huge boot girl but depending on the temperature boots aren’t always practical, so I go for a comfy sneaker. Sneakers go with everything and add a fun edge to a girly outfit. I have been tapping into my feminine side lately and love adding a sneaker for a bit of contrast!
I wish I had more of an organized procedure when it comes to getting dressed, but to be honest it’s kind of chaotic. The thing I love most about fashion is playing around with new things. I love trying to find new style formulas that I can follow for the season and then adding fun twists to a simple combo. I usually start with one item that I know I want to style, whether it’s a new piece or a piece that I haven’t worn in a while. From there I play around with mixing textures, patterns, and layering until I am satisfied. Sometimes I get lucky, and it will take me 10 minutes to put together an outfit. At other times, I will try on everything in my closet before I’m happy with what I’m wearing. I feel like I am at the point now though, where I know what styles and colours flatter me most. I have curated a wardrobe full of pieces I love, so putting together an outfit has become much easier!
