How would you describe what you do?
I develop visual concepts, write scripts, and direct films. I’ve mainly focused on branded content for clients like Little Burgundy as well as music videos but lately my attention has expanded into narrative work.
Talk to us about your creative process.
I spend the majority of my time writing and developing concepts. It can take months of writing and planning before we even turn on a camera. Once I have a concept on paper, I’ll put together a treatment or a mood board to help sell the vision and get other people on board. Surrounding myself with talented people during a shoot has proven to be one of the most important parts of my creative process.
What was the highlight of the shoot with Little Burgundy?
The people on the LB shoot made it a really great experience. Shoot days can be long and stressful but if you’re surrounded by good people it creates a feeling of comradery. You’re all working towards the same goal – making the project the best it can be.
Where is your favourite place to go in Vancouver?
Anywhere outdoors. Vancouver is full of places to explore and things to do outside, which is a large part of why I live here.
What are your go-to shoes?
Vans classics. A black pair in the winter and a white pair in the summer.
