As the (physical) doors to our homes closed, the digital windows opened. We scrolled and scrolled, TikTok’ed, searched, fact checked, zoomed and collected so many tabs.
While in a web trance, the boundaries between IRL and URL have faded. And just like that, we hit refresh on our collective consciousness. We’ve been living in a pseudo-livestream. One foot in a real life, and the other in a crowded digital reality.
And now these lines are blurred. We’re scrolling through memories, and searching through bread recipes, zooming our 5 à 7, and posting every rainbow and sunset. We have learned to be “with” ourselves — not by ourselves.
So where do you go, when you’re with yourself?
To a half real, half virtual space. Where questions = searches, and get hundreds of answers. Where there are endless puppy videos and sourdough tutorials. Where old content is re-examined, edited and broadcast as new. The Inner Web.
